She's scared of the dark, but for him, she embraced it.

Wrecked is the third book in the Dirty Air Series and can be read on its own.But I suggest reading the first two books to fully enjoy this story.

THE BRITISH F1

Jax Kingston is the Brit bad boy of the F1 circuit, a known party-goer and a womanizer. Constantly in the presence of the media, all for the wrong reasons. When McCoy hired Elena Gonzalez to be his PR fixer, to clean up and make up for all his issues.

Beneath the bad boy façade is the fragile and anxious Jax. A man who constantly drowned himself in Xanax and alcohol to suppress and hide his anxiety. Plus, his worriness about his mother's condition made it worse, and there was the possibility of never being able to find happiness again in the future.

What I like about Jax is his character development. From this self-aware and disguised bad boy to finally finding his footing and settling in comfortably. How he slowly avoid all the anxiety pills and find the courage to stand firmly

I love how Jax was shown as a family-oriented man. How he shows concern and love for his mother, and spoils them. A man who's in love with his family is madly attractive to me.

Also, Jax are related in some ways. As a person who also has anxiety, things could get worse in some circumstances. Sometimes anxiety is really the main antagonist of every person who's suffering from this. Jax became relatable in the ways he became nervous and rattled because of his races.

THE BROKEN FIXER

Elena Gonzales' perseverance and courage are admirable. After the traumatic incident when she was young, her grandmother was the one who kept her. In desperate need of financial assistance, being hired as a PR Fixer by McCoy is a miracle.

The Elena and Jax banter was hilarious. A great pinch of humour when things get dark. Her rebuttals and comebacks are so witty and harder than a slap. I absolutely love Elena, especially the way she supports advocacies in her ways.

One of the things that made Elena stand out from the rest of the Dirth Air Series female protagonists is that she initiates make-up. When things got rough in their relationship, Elena stood firm in her role as the fixer. She made the first move. She fixed the relationship by getting back together. And I think Elena is unique in her own way.

 THE PUSH AND PULL ROMANCE

Things started to heat up when the push and pull romance started. I like how angsty it is! Jax trying to avoid and hate Elena, while she's trying her luck to reach out and get to know him.

Aside from the main characters, I greatly appreciate our secondary characters here. Caleb is funny and so strong, despite suffering from cancer. The way he lights up the scenes and makes everyone around him happy.

I like Elena's best friend, Elias. I also like him a lot. However, I wished to see him more, which sadly didn't happen. I think Elias is an interesting character as he, himself, stands as a representation in the book.

Just like what I said in my review of Collided, I was excited to read the rest of the Dirty Air Series and this book didn't disappoint.

Overall, this is an enjoyable book. A great read, best for readers who like grumpy and sunshine tropes, and (kind of) forbidden romance and sports romance.

Reccomended with caution is advised because some topics and instances may be sensitive to some readers.

Content Warning: Anxiety, pills, death, murder, illnesses.
