About

About Me

Hi! I'm Risse, the person behind this blog. An introverted bookworm and a trying hard writer from the Philippines. Currently, I'm a student studying in the STEM strand. I'm interested in culture, identity, creative living, and all things literary. An advocate for reading literacy because—as a self-proclaimed bookworm—I want other children to find magic and comfort in books just like I do; as well as intersectional feminism and everything in between.

I hope that this little blog will be my safe space for my opinion and thoughts, to be an avenue for personal self-development and all my advocacy even in the tiniest way possible.

Reading Preference

I pretty much read anything: books, magazines, columns, blogs, newspapers, etc. But in books, these specific genre always hold my heart:

  • Women's Fiction
  • Romance
  • Mysteries and Thriller
  • Non-fiction / Self-Help
  • Poetries

I love reading books about women or by women regardless of color, identity, race, or nationality.

About the Blog

Reading with Risse is a book blog launched in December of 2021 as a great comeback for my reading habit. This book blog is a curated personal online universe where I post about books (book reviews, book lists/book recommendations) and dramas (kdramas, movies, and series reviews). Book reviews may come in different formats like single review, mini-reviews, trilogy/duology/series reviews.
