Angels + Mob Boss + a retelling of Romeo and Juliet = Feather!

I read this book because of angels, I love books with celestial beings. I can't believe that angels and mob bosses would be perfect to put together. This gave me a book hangover, and I make sure to write this review.

 THE FLETCHING ANGEL

Leigh is a fletching angel who needs to earn her remaining feathers in order to travel to Elysium, the angels' home. She's both lucky and unfortunate to have picked a Triple, the worst of all sinners. If Leight can get Jarod to accomplish a single act of kindness, she can get 100 feathers and easily asend.

Leigh is an adorable character. There are some instances where she acts so naive and emotional. But all those things aside, I'm in love with Leigh. She's so full of optimism and aspiration. Truly an angel inside and out. fearless and do not give up easily, especially to Jarod.

 THE MOB BOSS

Jarod, the Parisian Mafia boss, is a grumpy, and broken character. Despite his portrayal as a deadly and broody boss, all I found throughout reading the book was that Jarod is a softue. The way he cared for, talked, and caressed Leigh? All of those speak of his kindness and loveable personality. I like how his backstory has been a part of one of the plot twists.

LOSE A FEATHER OR LOSE HIS FEATHER?

Leigh's determination to save Jarod's soul took her to find the cracks and unjustified rules in her realm and fall in love with him. But with a catch, would they like to lose a feather or lose Jarod's feather?

 LOVE IT OR HATE IT?

Definitely love it! You can't imagine how much I'm in love with this book. The romance and intimacy were off the charts, perfectly mixed with spiciness, hilariousness, and pure and fierce love.

Despite knowing that this is a Romeo and Juliet retelling, the end was... (whisper) heartbreaking. And it makes me want to read the second book, Celestial! And cross-finger to finally give them a HEA.

Feather is a beautifully written book with its magical world-buildung and marvelous writing style. If you like celestial beings, mob bosses with a grumpy and sunny personality, and a Romeo and Juliet retelling, this is a must-read!
