I'm in love with this book! There is no reason for me to rate it less than five stars.

In this romantic-comedy, Jamie Wesley serves us Jada Townsend-Matthews— a reality star turned TV villain when she rejected the most eligible bachelor for his marriage proposal—meet Donovan Dell is a football player with a sweet tooth, he co-owned Sugar Blitz, a cupcake and pastries shop.

Jada and Donovan started on a wrong foot after a hilarious banter describing his shop "stale" and his cupcake as "just decent". To prove herself to her grandmother, the football team owner, that she can handle herself and also to secure her trust fund, she needs to find a job. And working on Donovan's shop is not even on her mind.

This book, despite the mash of romance and comedy, is fluffy and laid back. Jada Townsend-Matthews is the type of woman I wanted to be bond with. I like her personality, she speaks her mind, is hilarious, and witty. She has dyslexia and is not ashamed about it at all. (She shouldn't even be ashamed of it in the first place.)

I think Jada is brave to acknowledge all the negativities the social media threw at her when she was heavily bashed when she rejected the most famous bachelor. Unlike her parents who are working on STEM, she decided to take humanities as her program. I like how she pursues her passion and not be swayed by her parents.

Donovan Dell (I love his name! It's so manly.) I like how logical he is, he loves numbers and statistics. Exactly the opposite Jada is. He supported and cheered Jada up every time a cupcake was burned.

I like how Jada matured as the book progressed, the story phase was steady. With the exception of the last break-up act which I find so unnecessary. Jada only wanted to make a name and a business for herself without the help of her grandmother.

He'd fallen in love with Jada Matthew-Townsend, the most unpredictable person he'd ever met, who live to shake up his carefully ordered world.

Jada and Donovan's relationship is laid back and is chill. My favorite scenes that really stand out to me was when Donovan invited his football player best friends to watch the reality show Jada was in. He was pissed and growling every time the bachelor came on screen! The jealousy was evident!

Fake It Til You Bake It is a laid back romantic-comedy with people of color as its characters! Jada and Donovan serve us that opposite attracts; she was impulsive, he was methodical. It was page-turning and entertaining witty banter and hilarious comebacks with fake dating and reality tv shows as its tropes!
