DARK AND MYSTERIOUS

Killing November by Adriana Mather is the first book in the November series. The book opens us to a dark and creepy atmosphere in the first few chapters.

November Adly reluctantly agrees to enter the Abscondity Academy in a dense forest; no contact with the outside world, a weird and way more normal curriculum. November has to keep in mind the academy's rules while keeping up with the frequent weird happenings in her life. Things start to heat up when she stumbles on a dead body, avoiding the attempts of someone who wants to end her.

While staying in the academy, more secrets unfold, more mysteries need to be solved. A secretive society and the home of family feudsTogether with Layla, her roommate, and Ash, who adds an interesting twist and romance to the book that helps the story move forward

WHAT I LIKE ABOUT NOVEMBER

November is a confident extrovert and is thought to trust easily. She was wise enough to solve challenges in an odd way that made her stand out and lovable. Entering a new setting will welcome her to a new set of friends and fun, new sets of people she needs to be conscious of. And people who'll make her experience betrayal and distrust.

This is one of my favorite books! November is so insightful and unique to me. Her recollections of her father and how her parents taught her to discover a way, a plothole, in a subtle way, can help her overcome any problem.

The lecturers' lectures were always linked to real historical events and how they can provide hints to all sorts of puzzles.

A GREAT YOUNG ADULT THRILLER!

This book took the boarding school setting to another level and was definitely a page-turner, different from other YA mystery novels.

Do I recommend it? Of course! It's well worth reading. Especially if you like mysteries, friends who never quit, secret societies, shady school, and being the secret ace of the show.
